Artist's Comments

This is not a drawing that I particularly like due to the scale I was working on; drawing a full-length portrait with high-detail doesn't yield very promising results, really. I much prefer the texture on the clothing for almost all of my full-length portraits...It is so difficult to achieve a resemblance with such fine detail and small working space, really!
But here it is, just for you Dianna!
Photograph by Cecil Beaton.
Ascot Scene from My Fair Lady (1964), arguably one of the funniest scenes of Audrey's acting career..."My aunt died of influenza, so they said, but it is my belief that they done the old woman in..." And so beautiful... "Come on Dover! Move yer bloomin' arse!"

Honestly... I really love that dress. I don't think I could ever wear anything like it but I still love it.
